1. Overview of Go Blue Project
The Go Blue project in coastal Kenya, funded by the EU, is a comprehensive initiative aimed at advancing the Blue Economy Agenda through Coastal Development. The project's objective is to unlock the potential of land-sea opportunities in coastal urban centers for sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth with employment impact, while conserving and sustainably using the coastal and marine environment and promoting effective maritime governance. The project is implemented across various pillars and locations.

Pillar I | Fishery & Agriculture Value Chain (Implemented by Italian Agency for Development Cooperation - AICS)
Location: Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, and Lamu
Activities include enhancing fisheries co-management, strengthening fishery and cassava value chains, and supporting the JKP Secretariat.

Location: Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, and Taita Taveta

Pillar III | Tourism, Cultural, and Heritage Value Chain (Implemented by Portuguese Camões, I.P)
Location: Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, and Taita Taveta
Activities involve supporting the formulation of blueprints, conducting value chain analysis, and promoting social entrepreneurship.
Component 2 | Go Blue Environment (Implemented by UN-Habitat and UNEP)
Location: Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, and Taita Taveta
Activities include data center establishment, waste management, urban public space enhancement, and blue carbon projects.
Component 3 | Go Blue Maritime Security and Safety (Implemented by Expertise France)
Location: Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, and Lamu
Activities focus on maritime security governance, search and rescue capacity-building, IUU fishing, and community watch programs.
